Stowed:

• The storage reel is either bolted down or welded to the deck
• All but approx. 6 feet of tow wire is stored on the reel.
• One end of the Bridle Chain is shackled to a standard towing pad-eye on deck. The other end is shackled around the tow wire just aft of the socket. Wire clips are used to secure the chain to the deck until deployment.

• The tag line and pick-up wire are retrieved and pulled (which are attached to the tow wire socket.)
• The tow wire is pulled off the drum through the towing shackle (which is connected to the Bridle Chain).
• When the wire runs completely off the drum, the bitter end of the wire with the socket engages the shackle which is attached to the Bridle Chain.
• The chain deploys and you are ready to tow.
